The seven-day window
You have seven days from the day of delivery to raise a return on anything unopened and unused. Sealed food and personal care can be returned with the seal and label intact. Textiles, handicrafts and pottery can be returned unworn, unwashed and unused, with the original packing where you still have it.
Raise the request through the contact page or on WhatsApp with your order number and a line on why. We will confirm within one working day whether the item qualifies and, if it does, arrange a pickup where a courier reaches you. Where no pickup is possible, we will ask you to send it to the group’s address and we will cover the postage.
Hygiene exceptions
Sanitary napkins, menstrual cups and anything else worn against the skin cannot be returned once the outer pack has been opened. This is a hygiene requirement, not a matter of discretion, and it applies even if the item is unused.
An outer pack that arrives already opened or damaged is a different case entirely — that is a damaged-in-transit claim, and we replace it. Photograph it before you open it further.
Food that has been opened
Food cannot be returned after opening. What can be raised is a quality claim: spoiled contents, broken seals, a best-before date already passed on arrival, or something that is not what the listing described. Tell us within 48 hours of delivery with a photograph, and we will refund or replace it.
We do not ask for opened food to be shipped back. It cannot re-enter circulation, and making you pack and post a broken jar helps nobody.
Damaged in transit
Photograph the outer parcel and the product inside and send both to us within 48 hours of delivery, on WhatsApp or by email. Include the order number if you have it. Please accept the parcel rather than refusing it — a refused parcel is tracked as a delivery failure and it is much harder for us to make a claim on your behalf.
Where the group still has stock, we dispatch a replacement. Where it does not — and a one-off hand-painted piece often will not — we refund in full. For textiles and handicrafts we may arrange a pickup of the damaged item; for food and perishables we never do.
Refunds and how long they take
- Prepaid orders are refunded to the original payment method — the same card, UPI ID or bank account you paid from. We initiate the refund within 48 hours of the returned item reaching the group’s unit.
- Your bank then takes 5–7 working days to credit it. That part is outside our control, and we will give you the refund reference so you can chase it if it does not appear.
- Cash-on-delivery orders are refunded by bank transfer to an account in the buyer’s own name. We ask for the account details when the return is confirmed and initiate within 48 hours of receiving them.
- Where a coupon discount brought an order over the free-delivery threshold and the return takes it back below, the delivery charge is deducted from the refund. The amount is stated before you confirm the return.
Who pays the return freight
If the item is damaged, defective, expired, the wrong product, or materially different from the listing, Saahvi pays. That covers the return freight and, where a replacement is sent, the outbound freight again.
If you have simply changed your mind, you pay the return freight. We deduct the actual courier cost from the refund and tell you the figure before the pickup is booked, so there is no surprise at the end of it.
What we cannot take back
- Opened sanitary napkins, menstrual cups and anything worn against the skin.
- Opened food and perishables.
- Made-to-order textiles once cutting or stitching has begun.
- Bulk hampers with printed cards or bespoke packaging, once those have been printed — they cannot be reused for anyone else.
- Anything altered after delivery, or returned outside the seven-day window.
Something here that needs clarifying? Ask us and we will answer with the specifics rather than the clause number.
