Where your order ships from
Saahvi holds no stock and operates no warehouse. Every product is packed at the Self Help Group’s own unit, in its own village, and handed to the courier there. That is deliberate: it keeps the work and the payment in the same place, and it means a jar of pickle has travelled from the village it was made in rather than from a depot outside a city.
Each product page names the group, its village and its district. If your order contains products from more than one group, it will arrive as more than one parcel, on different days, possibly with different courier partners. You will get a separate tracking number for each. Postage is still charged once.
How long dispatch takes
The estimate shown on the product page is the one that applies to that item, and it already accounts for anything on the list above. The order confirmation repeats it, and the delivery window on that page is the date range you should hold us to.
- Food and personal care — pickles, spices, honey, millets, soaps, hair and skin care: packed and handed to the courier within 48 hours of order confirmation, provided the order is placed before 2 pm on a working day.
- Pottery and terracotta: 3–5 working days, so that pieces are properly dried and cushioned before they travel.
- Made-to-order textiles — quilts, handloom yardage, embroidered cushion covers and bedding: up to 10 working days, because these are cut, stitched or embroidered after the order rather than picked off a shelf.
- Oct–Nov and the fortnight around Rakhi: add 3–5 working days to every estimate. The groups are producing at their seasonal peak and the courier networks are at theirs.
- Dispatch runs Monday to Saturday. Sundays and national holidays are not dispatch days, and the clock starts the working day after payment is confirmed.
Delivery charges
Delivery is free on orders of ₹799 and above. Below that, a flat charge of ₹59 applies to the whole order.
Charges are calculated on the order subtotal after any coupon is applied and before any cash-on-delivery fee. Because postage is charged once per order, a hamper drawn from four different groups does not attract four delivery charges, even though it will be four parcels.
Cash on delivery
Cash on delivery is available on eligible PIN codes for a handling fee of ₹29, shown in the cart before you confirm the order and again at checkout. The fee covers the courier’s collection and remittance cost and is not part of the product price.
The courier collects the full amount in cash and remits it to us. Because of that, a cash-on-delivery order does not reach the group any faster or slower than a prepaid one: groups are paid on the normal fortnightly settlement cycle either way.
PIN codes we cannot serve yet
We deliver across most of India. The exceptions are PIN codes beginning with the following, where our courier partners have no reliable last-mile reach:
- 194 — Leh and the upper Ladakh valleys
- 737 — Sikkim
- 744 — the Nicobar islands
- 790, 791 and 792 — Arunachal Pradesh
If your PIN is on that list
Message us on WhatsApp before you order. Where a district hub can accept a parcel for onward collection, we will route it there and tell you plainly how long that will take. Where we cannot find a route, we will say so rather than take the order and let it sit — and any amount already paid is refunded in full.
You can also check any PIN code yourself from the product page. Couriers publish their own reach, and it sets ours. We deliver to most PIN codes in India, and the serviceability check on every product page answers for your own.
Tracking your parcel
Every parcel carries a tracking number, and the courier’s own tracking is authoritative once the parcel is in their hands. You can follow the progress of orders placed in this browser on the track your order page.
If a tracking number has not moved for three working days, tell us. We would rather chase the courier than have you do it.
Something here that needs clarifying? Ask us and we will answer with the specifics rather than the clause number.
