About this product

A laminated jute tote with a cotton-lined base and handles that are cross-stitched rather than tacked on. The group’s first hundred bags were rejected because the handles gave way, and every tote since has been over-built at exactly that seam. Good for groceries, books and a laptop.

Looking after it

Spot clean only. A full wash softens the lamination and the bag loses its shape.

What we check before a product is listed

Four things we do not compromise on, because a handmade product is judged on all of them.

No preservatives in food
Pickles are cured with oil and salt, not vinegar and stabilisers. Bakery is dispatched within a week of baking.
Azo-free dyes in textiles
Reactive and natural dyes only, printed and dried in shade so the colour bonds to the fibre instead of sitting on it.
Cure times are respected
Six weeks for cold-process soap, four weeks for pickle, three weeks for lemon. Shortening these is how a handmade product is made to look handmade.
Batch-tested where it matters
Honey, ghee and spices are tested for adulteration before packing, and the report is available on request.

Will it hold a laptop?

Yes — a 14-inch laptop sits flat in the base with room for a charger. For daily carry we would suggest the padded sleeve instead.
